Music
I was thinking … from all the therapies available at hand when facing adversity in our lives, music is one at hand that helps us through our ups and downs with its unique way to quiet everything around us focusing on the rythm and verses. You can almost say “it speaks to me“ and you woudn’t be far away from the truth.
With its morphing ability, ever adapting to the feelings within us and the world challenges, it seems to always have something to say. That can be a critique to the system and us, a love balade or stating the obvious about our journey on this planet. One association that we always make when listening, is between man and woman, the neverending dance of feelings encompased in beautiful lyrics. We invest many sentiments so deeply in songs that we map them to our daily lives, we shiver when a verse matches our situation and state of mind, but we atribute everything to chance.
The concept of syncronicity [to describe circumstances that appear meaningfully related yet lack a causal connection] is not new, being introduced almost 100 years ago by Carl Jung. Seemingly unrelated events in one’s mind and the outside world, yet have an unknown connection. While having already half the explanation there, the unknown part brings a smile on my face. We put unkown to it, because we seem to forget, that everything happens to a reason and we are part of Her plan. There are no coincidences, but only Her way of showing you that all of us are part of something much bigger.
Same concept applies to everything in our lives, and Music is one of it.
The man and woman allegorie from most songs can be replaced with one between man and God. Try to put Her into all songs you listen and watch the magic reveal itself. From songs like Anastacia - Sick and Tired to Benson Boone - Beautiful Things to Rammstein - Du Hast to Evanescence - Bring Me to Live, every song tells a story about Us and Her. It does not matter whan kind of music, what year or what genre you are listening. The message is there for anyone who is able to hear it.
Take your favourite playlist, your favourite singer, your favourite year and listen to the words. Let them tell you the story we need to hear and bring us one step closer to Her. The road will seem long and will have bumps in it, but when reaching our goal, nothing else will matter.
Until next time, with all my love,
