Death
I was thinking … having a limited time, even though scary to think about it because of it’s absolute truth, doesn’t it otherwise enhance our senses and makes us value our time here more?
There is the saying “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.“ Benjamin Franklin . One of them has been proven to be true, while the other was and was proven time and time again that can be dodged. As with all things, not from the common person, who has it’s hands full with providing for their families, but for the, ironically, ones that have been entrusted with so much. It’s just a sad to see that the only thing on their minds is to produce more money instead of contributing to our society and support solving the many problems which we currently face. What we seem to forget is the simple truth that we all go back to Her and it is known only by Her when this will happen.
While unnerving in the beginning, thinking about it, about the finite of us all and the fact that we cannot change it, I would argue it’s what makes it so much beautiful. When you don’t know and you have no control over it, shouldn’t you focus on other things that are within your grasp? We seem to perfectly understand this, at a certain age or when we get a terminal illness. Suddenly our time becomes invaluable and it’s harnessed in a total different way. We no longer care about that fight we have with our colleague or about the constant bombarment of bad news or about any other things. Only then we realize that we have a bucket list but it can be that we no longer have the ability to fulfill it.
Then… why wait until that critical point to make the change you feel it is necessary? Why wait and listen to any other who tells you, you cannot and should not do it because there is no time. This is your life and yours alone. Don’t postpone for tomorrow what you can do today. You don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but you know what you can do right now. Make yourself better, invest in the things you like and experiment life, like it is meant to be. Live each day like you have only months to live. Of course you will make mistakes and some things will need to be learned in the process, but exactly that is the beauty in Her work. We are not machines who should/need to do everything perfect; we are people that learn and experience continuosly, as basis for our development.
Some day, the day will come when we should leave this world and what can be more exquisite than to have a beautiful fully lived life while returning to Her and be proud by the things you have done? For all relatives and friends, the separation is hard and leaves a hole in their lives but if they know and feel you as being contempt with everything you achieved, they might have an easier time. When someone passes away (beautiful synonym for Death) they say goodbye to this world and only they alone know with what positive experiences (and negative) will come in front of Her. We have so many examples of NDEs (Near Death Experience) where some where given the opportunity to come back and explain in their own words of the beauty of her work (Life after Life - Raymond A. Moody ; After Life) … why, instead of listening and learning from them, we chose to ignore them and blame the messenger as having and imbalance of hormons that we can’t explain? Our born curiosity should be let free to discover and understand all aspects of our existence not to be limited to the things we now have information about.
Should we be afraid of death? I would say, that it depends on the life you have lived.
Are you happy with the person you have becomed and the things you did good until that moment? Then you will go in front of Her knowing that you did everything in your power to become the best version of yourself you can be.
Did you live your life without consideration for others, always watching your own interest and without fear of anything, because you live under the impression that you are above others? Then, my strong recomendation is to watch yourself long the mirror and think hard if this is the version of yourself you want to invest further in.
As with everything , the choice lies within you, so chose wisely.
We all have two lives. The second one starts when we realize that we only have one.
